Ginzinger wins the HRBert 2026

Same Terms, Better Understanding: With its “Sprich Ginzingerisch” project, Ginzinger electronic systems has won the 2026 HRbert Award from Business Upper Austria.

Outstanding Collaboration: Ginzinger electronic systems was honored with the HRbert 2026 award at Business Upper Austria’s Zukunft.HR event. The project “Speak Ginzingerisch – Shaping Language Together. Strengthening Collaboration.” won in the “Innovative – Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” category.

Same Terms, same understanding

What does “PL” stand for? Project Manager, Production Manager, or Human Resources Manager? And when does a product actually go “into production”—upon completion of development, the start of production, project handover, or market launch? What may sound like mere linguistic details can lead to misunderstandings and additional coordination efforts in day-to-day work. This is exactly where our project “Speak Ginzinger” comes in.

The starting point was an existing company-wide nomenclature. However, as Ginzinger grew, with different locations and new employees, it became clear that terms and abbreviations were not being used or understood consistently across the board. The goal: to further develop a common language, provide clarity, and thereby facilitate collaboration across departmental boundaries.

Establishing a Common Language for the Long Term

A unique feature of the project: Three young employees from different departments took the lead in designing the process on their own initiative. Tim, Helene, and Laura analyzed the terminology in use and collaboratively developed formats to embed consistent language in day-to-day work.

After all, a document alone cannot change the way people speak. That’s why the project team deliberately adopted a playful approach: An awareness video developed in collaboration with the marketing team humorously addresses common misunderstandings. An interactive “1, 2, or 3?” game and regularly published comics provide further opportunities for conversation.

In this way, “Ginzingerish” isn’t simply imposed, but is learned, discussed, and refined together.

We don't accept just anyone. Only the best. You.

Take Responsibility and Help Shape the Future

HR  supported the process as a facilitator and sounding board. At the same time, the project gave Tim, Helene, and Laura the opportunity to take on responsibility themselves and gain experience in project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration. This award therefore fits particularly well with our current “Year of Community”. After all, “Sprich Ginzingerisch” is based on a simple principle: When we all understand the same terms in the same way, it creates a shared sense of direction. This facilitates collaboration and helps break down silos across departmental boundaries.

“You don't recognize a good HR project by how good it looks on paper, but by the impact it has on people. That's exactly what we wanted to achieve. That's why HRbert isn't just part of HR—he belongs to everyone who helps shape Ginzinger every day.”
