Long Night of Research 2026
The Austria-wide research project will take place on site again in 2026. Take a look behind the scenes of electronics development and production at Ginzinger electronic systems!
Experience electronics development and production live
Becoming a researcher yourself for once: This will be possible throughout Austria on April 26, 2026. As part of the Long Night of Research, numerous research institutes and companies across Austria will open their doors and inspire visitors with new technologies and products. Ginzinger electronic systems will be there and will show how highly complex electronics are developed and produced.
Experience electronics up close
From product development through component placement and assembly to testing the assemblies before shipment: The “all-inclusive package” that Ginzinger electronic systems puts together for its customers can be explored this evening through various stations. Visitors will gain insight into a state-of-the-art development and production facility and immerse themselves in the world of electronics.
How do you load a dust grain?
Devices are becoming smaller and more compact. Many of the electronic components they contain are now barely visible to the naked eye. Components as small as 0.2 x 0.1 mm—smaller than a speck of dust—can be processed on Ginzinger’s state-of-the-art SMT assembly line. Up to 70,000 components per hour are placed onto printed circuit boards with the highest precision. The automatic optical inspection system (AOI) then checks whether all components are in the correct position and perfectly soldered.
The Long Night of Research
This marks the seventh time that Ginzinger electronic systems has participated in the Long Night of Research, offering exciting insights into electronics development and manufacturing at various stations.
The LNF is Austria’s largest event for science, research, and innovation and is open to all age groups. The event takes place from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and admission is free. Free shuttle buses connect the various event and exhibition venues.
