Are you ready for the CRA?

To support manufacturers of embedded systems and HMI solutions in implementation, Ginzinger electronic systems and its long-standing partner Limes Security have developed a practical CRA white paper.

Everything you need to know about the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)

The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) sets new standards for digital product safety in Europe. From September 2026, there will be a reporting obligation for serious security incidents, and from December 2027, all technical and organizational requirements must be met. This makes cybersecurity a prerequisite for CE marking and access to the European market.

The CRA affects almost all products with digital elements—from industrial embedded systems and HMI solutions to IoT devices. In the future, manufacturers will be required to consider security throughout the entire product lifecycle: from development and market launch to updates and vulnerability management in the field. This requires not only technical measures, but also clearly defined processes, responsibilities, and documentation.

For companies that develop complex, networked systems in particular, this means that security by design is evolving from a quality feature to a regulatory requirement. Acting early reduces subsequent adaptation costs, minimizes liability risks, and ensures that products remain marketable in the long term.

To support manufacturers of embedded systems and HMI solutions in implementing these requirements, Ginzinger electronic systems and its long-standing partner Limes Security have developed a practical CRA white paper.

What does the CRA white paper offer?

  • Practical explanations of CRA requirements without legal jargon
  • Step-by-step instructions for implementation – from software bill of materials (SBoM) and vulnerability management to reporting processes
  • Threat analysis methodology (TRA) as the basis for a risk-based security strategy
  • Best practices from real-world projects, such as IoT devices or smart meter adapters

The white paper and accompanying services provide companies with clear guidance on the steps required to comply with CRA. They benefit from structured procedures that reduce effort and risks while increasing the safety of their products. Early CRA compliance strengthens the trust of customers and authorities, giving companies a real competitive advantage.
