Qt 6 made easy: Save time and effort when upgrading
Learn about the new features in Qt 6 and how to efficiently migrate your project from Qt 5. Practical examples show you the optimal migration path and the advantages of the new architecture.
In this webinar with our partner Sequality, you will get a concise overview of the most important changes when switching from Qt 5 to Qt 6. By the end, you will know how to efficiently migrate your existing project to Qt 6, what advantages the new architecture, performance improvements, and modern APIs offer, and how to overcome typical challenges.
Webinarinhalte:
- Migration paths:
Upgrade to Qt 5.15, transition from QMake to CMake, and the optimal path to Qt 6. - Qt5 compatibility layer:
Possible uses under Qt 6, usefulness, and when it is better to reimplement code—especially for graphical effects and GPU-based shader code. - Rendering backends: Differences and use of OpenGL, Vulkan, and DirectX under Qt 6.
- Video streaming: Use of default backends such as FFmpeg and GStreamer.
- Licenses:
Overview of Qt 6 and open source licenses (for commercial license details, please refer to the Qt website). - Practical examples:
Specific code adjustments, typical stumbling blocks, and a practical migration path. - Optional live demo:
