ESD can cause devastating damage in production and when handling electronic components, which often goes unnoticed. In our webinar, we delve into the physical phenomenon of ESD (electrostatic discharge) and reveal the invisible danger to which electronic components and assemblies are exposed.
We explain the basics of ESD and illustrate the effects ESD can have on components, assemblies, and finished products. You will receive practical tips on best practices that you can implement immediately in your production environment to prevent ESD damage.

Webinarinhalte:

  • Physical background of ESD:
In the webinar, we explain what electrostatic charge is, how it is generated and discharged—for example, through triboelectricity or influence—and what dangers this poses for electronic components and assemblies.
  • Measures against ESD:
You will learn in a practical way how ESD protection is implemented in production: the tasks of an ESD coordinator, standards (IEC61340), ESD models, setting up a protected working environment (EPA), rules of conduct, staff training, regular audits, and safe packaging of sensitive components.

Your expert on the topic:

The speaker is Reinhard Schmeitzl, ESD representative and long-standing employee at Ginzinger electronic systems. Mr. Schmeitzl has many years of experience in the field of ESD protection and also provides ESD consulting services to external companies. He will soon complete his training as a certified ESD auditor.
